The Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was started in 1995 in eastern Tennessee. The program partners with local non-profits in the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The program has grown successfully to partnering with over 1600 local communities and providing books to over 750,000 children each and every month.
You can register each child through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The local non-profit will send an age appropriate book each month from 1 months to 5 years old. Click here for the link.

On a personal note, this is a great resource for us to stock our library. I recently visited the children’s section of a bookstore and saw some of these same books on the shelves. So they are sending new books. The boys like it when I read to them. At this point, it is a struggle to turn the page with them grabbing it but I’d rather them show excitement over books than toys!
